| Tour de France five-time champion Lance Armstrong, who was successfully treated at IU Cancer Center (IUCC) for advanced testicular cancer in 1996, will appear at the Conseco Fieldhouse Thursday, Oct. 16, with members of the cross-country Tour of Hope cycling team.
The Tour of Hope is raising awareness of the importance of cancer research, specifically clinical trials. Armstrong is joining the 26 Tour of Hope cyclists along the way as they relay ride from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., Oct. 11-18. Armstrong will speak at only two sites other than Indianapolis.
He will speak to nearly 400 testicular cancer survivors treated at the IU Cancer Center and the general public from 10:45 a.m. to noon. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. Also speaking will be Dr. Larry Einhorn and IUCC patient John Cleland.
Seating is limited and complimentary tickets are available online (Web site below) through noon on Friday (Oct. 10). Only two tickets per person may be ordered at a time. For additional tickets, return to the Web site:
