IU East to celebrate sixth annual homecoming

By Cynthia Vaughn
There's a party going on at IU East to celebrate the sixth annual IU East homecoming.

The celebration kicks off, Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m., with the Lively Arts concert featuring the Singing Hoosiers from the IU School of Music in Bloomington. A reception hosted by the IU East Alumni Association and the IU Alumni Club of Eastern Indiana will follow the performance. Reserved seating is required at the cost of $5 per ticket. Tickets are available by calling 765-973 8419.

The homecoming festival will begin on Saturday, Oct. 6, with the fourth annual IU East/ Palladium Item Chancellor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk. The race starts at 3 p.m. with registration at 2 p.m. on the Whitewater Hall front walkway. There will also be a 1K Kids' Run beginning at 3:45 p.m. Dinner, catered by Rihm's, will be served beginning at 4:30 p.m.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the campus, graduates from the 1970s are encouraged to join classmates at the festival for a stroll down memory lane. The celebration will wrap up with a display of fireworks at 6:30 p.m.

For more information about the events, which includes a golf outing, call 765-973-8221; iuealum@indiana.edu.
