Answer: The Sept. 10 “Hoosier view” is a photo of Nan Deitert’s 1972 untitled sculpture. It can be seen at IU Bloomington next to the School of Fine Arts, on the side entrance near the Radio-TV Services building near the library parking lot.
Not a mystery: Teresa Miller wasn’t stumped by the Sept. 10 “Hoosier view” photo. Miller, director of proposal review at Sponsored Research Services, was the first person to identify our mystery landmark. Not only did Miller have the right answer, she also appreciated the photo selection: “I have always admired this sculpture and walk my dog past the site regularly. It is nice to see it featured in a publication.”
Miller wasn’t alone. The following people from the IU Bloomington community knew where to find the Sept. 10 “Hoosier view”: Matthew Nance, Dick McGarvey, Michael Paskash, Debbi Conkle, Chris Stanley and Michael Van Vooren.
