What is so rare as a week in September?

The Lotus World Music and Arts Festival, which begins Wednesday (Sept. 15) and runs through Sunday, Sept. 19, in Bloomington, is generated in part by the support of many IU units and countless behind-the-scenes volunteers. The Lotus Festival honors the late Hoosier folk and country legend, Quinten Lotus Dickey of Orange County. Among performers will be the Whirling Dervishes of Rumi, who dance a 7th-century ritual to the music of flutes, strings and percussion (Saturday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.).
