| • IU South Bend is among eight colleges responsible for the construction of MoNA (Modular Neutron Array), a high-efficiency neutron detector located at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at Michigan State University. As a result of faculty and staff involvement in the construction project, IUSB physics undergrads will be able to participate in experimentation at the East Lansing facility that otherwise would have been outside of their undergraduate experience.
• The IU School of Music at IUPUI offers a master of music degree in music technology which can be completed entirely online. The online degree program is the first of its kind in the world.
• When Mary Bidwell Breed was hired by Indiana University in 1901, she was the only woman among 61 full-time male faculty members. She had a dual appointment; as dean the first dean of women, it was her job to institue proper behavior for men and women based on East Coast standards for suitable social interaction, speech and dress at IU. | |
