IPFW has issued a call for artists to participate in the 40th anniversary celebration of the Fort Wayne campus.
In collaboration with business sponsors, local artists and community organizations, IPFW will commemorate its 40th anniversary by incorporating 40 individualized fiberglass replicas of the university's mascot, the mastodon, into the Fort Wayne landscape. Mastodons will be designed by artists and determined by their sponsors. The Mastodons on Parade committee is now accepting proposals for this event.
Many citywide events are planned to highlight the resulting creative works. After five months of public display, May through September 2005, the mastodon artworks will be auctioned and the proceeds used to benefit the United Way of Allen County.
