| The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has approved a new degree program for IU Kokomo that will begin this fall.
A bachelor of science degree in public affairs will be offered through the IU School of Environmental and Public Affairs (SPEA). The degree will prepare students for employment in management and policy analysis at the local, state and federal levels.
Students will take core courses in public affairs and select a concentration in either management or criminal justice
“We hope that some of the public affairs graduates will stick around and earn our graduate certificate in public management,” said Allen Anderson, assistant dean of the SPEA program at the Kokomo campus, referring to another new SPEA offering making its debut at IU Kokomo in the fall.
The public affairs degree is the second new bachelor’s degree program announced by IU Kokomo in the past year and the campus’ 34th degree offering. Last November, the campus received approval for a bachelor of arts degree in health and aging offering, which also starts this fall.
