Schnell Garrett has been appointed executive director of campus life at IU East. She will oversee daily operations, including the Graf Recreation Center, the Child Development Center, Volunteer Action Center and the America Reads program. She will also serve as adviser to the Student LEADERS, Student Events Team, Student Activities Advisory Board and the student newspaper. Garrett had been serving as interim executive director since Feb. 2.
Prior to the appointment, Garrett was the assistant director of financial aid on the Richmond campus. Before working at IU East, she was the assistant director for student activities and Greek life at the University of Findlay in Ohio as part of a graduate assistantship. During her time at Findlay, she also served as assistant to the dean of students and was a graduate assistant with career services.
