IU South Bend’s Joray to assume directorship of general studies program

Joray

Paul Joray, professor of economics at IU South Bend, has been named the director of the general studies program on that campus. Joray, who has been a member of the faculty for 31 years and was dean of the School of Business and Economics for 17 years, will take over the new role on July 1. Joray will be stepping into the shoes of Ted Hengesbach who served as director of general studies for 24 years and retired in February.

The general studies program is a multi-disciplinary field of study which fulfills the traditional university requirements but allows for a full range of electives.

This past year, he was awarded the Lundquist Faculty Fellowship, which is awarded annually to a faculty member who demonstrates outstanding accomplishments in teaching, scholarship and service to the South Bend community.
