Excellent teaching recognized at IU Kokomo

IU Kokomo’s faculty has chosen four of its members to receive the 2002 Trustee Teaching Awards, recognizing innovative and student-centered teaching.

The winners are Christian Chauret, associate professor of biology; Michael Finkler, assistant professor of biology; Dianne Roden, associate professor of finance; and Linda Wallace, associate professor of nursing.

Each winner received a $2,500 award and will be recognized in the fall at the campus’ annual fall convocation.

Campus division chairs or deans nominated award candidates. An eight-member faculty committee then read packets of nomination support materials and selected winners based on “all types of interactions with students,” according to education professor and committee chair Ellen Sigler.
