Program lets science students interact through communication and networking

The IU Women in Science Program (WISP), through the Office of the Dean for Women’s Affairs on the Bloomington campus, has been involved is strategies toward initiating communication and networking lines for women studying the sciences through mentor relationships, panel discussions and fellowship programs.

An allied program, the Science Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program for Women, is currently providing research experience to 13 undergraduate women who have shown potential and interest in the sciences.

WISP/SURF also helps provide female role models to students by bringing successful women scientists to IU with the Distinguished Visiting Scholars program.
