Schistosomiasis

Lectures by IAS Fellow may be heard online

Oxford’s Joanne Webster will discuss host-parasite co-evolution this afternoon (April 26) at 4 p.m. at Myers Hall 130, IU Bloomington. She studies co-evolutionary interactions of Schistosoma (parasitic flatworms), the causative agent of schistosomiasis, a disease second only to malaria in terms of parasite-induced human morbidity and mortality.

As a fellow at IU’s Institute for Advanced Study, Webster’s presentation, along with the presentations of noted academicians from a variety of disciplines who have served as IAS fellows during the last year and one-half, may be heard at this Web site:
