Named scholarship to honor Bloomington chancellor

By Jayne Spencer

Gros Louis

Funds to endow a scholarship in honor of retiring IU Bloomington Chancellor Ken Gros Louis are in the works.

Plans call for awarding a $5,000 scholarship annually to an IUB student, said Matt Morris, major gifts officer at the IU Foundation.

The honor was catalyzed by alumni of the Board of Aeons, which Gros Louis has worked with throughout the years, and such groups as the Bloomington Faculty Council, as well as student and alumni organizations that have admired the chancellor’s work throughout a career at IU that spans nearly 40 years.

Personal and corporate gifts are being accepted through the foundation to fund the annual award.

Those with questions about the scholarship or those who wish to make a contribution should contact Morris at the IU Foundation at 1-800-558-8311 or by E-mail at matmorri@indiana.edu.
