Anna Rominger, interim dean of the School of Business and Economics, has been named dean of the school, effective April 1. She joined the Northwest faculty in 1991 and has been recognized through several honors including two IU Teaching Excellence Recognition Awards.

Bala Arshanapalli and William Nelson, finance, co-authored an article published in the Journal of Portfolio Management recently: "Is Fixed-Weight Asset Allocation Really Better?" Arshanapalli is also co-author of "Interrelationship between Indian and U.S. Stock Markets," published in the Journal of Management Research. He serves as a referee for the Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Studies in Economics and Finance. An Allstate Foundation grant has allowed him to present a series of seminars on "Achieving Financial Excellence" on the Northwest campus this year.

Edmond d’Ouville, accounting, recently had an article published in the "Global Business Trends Contemporary Readings, 2001 Edition." The article was co-authored with colleagues William Nelson and Bala Arshanapalli. He also prepared a retirement planning seminar for the campus’ "Achieving Financial Excellence" seminar series and created software for retirement planning for the community that is featured on the IUN School of Business and Economics Web site.

Subir Bandyopadhyay, marketing, is the co-author of an article published in the International Journal of Advertising: "Television Advertising to Children: Major Policy Implications." He also co-authored "Under the Gavel: We are Just Beginning to Understand the Power of Online Auctions" in Marketing Management and "A Critical Review of Pricing Strategies for Online Business Models" in the Quarterly Journal of Electronic Commerce.

Shyam Bhatia, economics, published a paper in the blind-refereed proceedings of the Indiana Academy of Social Sciences. The paper is entitled, "Economic Effects of NAFTA on the U.S. Economy." Bhatia presented another paper, "The Impact of NAFTA on U.S. Employment: A Partial Equilibrium Approach," at the Midwest Business Economics Conference in Chicago. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Business Economics.

Charles Hobson, business management, and Linda Delunas, nursing, are co-authors of "Frequencies for the Revised Social Readjustment Rating Scale" in the International Journal of Stress Management. Two other articles by Hobson, Delunas and Dawn Kesic, director of the Center for Management Development, are "A Framework for Redesigning or Fine-Tuning your Benefits Package: Results from a National Survey of Stressful Life-Events" and "Compelling Evidence of the Need for Corporate Work-Life Balance Initiatives: Results from a National Survey of Stressful Life-Events," published in the Journal of Employment Counseling.

Hobson and Delunas also collaborated on a paper entitled, "Gender Differences in Life-Event Stress: Results from a Large Scale Sample of the U.S. Population," which was presented at the annual Midwest Nursing Research Society Conference.

Ranjan Kini, management, is co-author of "Shaping of Moral Intensity Regarding Software Piracy in University Students: Immediate Community Effects," published in the Journal of Computer Information Systems. He also was involved in two papers in the proceedings of the Decision Sciences Institute Annual Conference in San Francisco, Calif. The first paper was entitled, "An Empirical Study of Ethical Attitudes of University Students Toward Software Piracy" and "An Empirical Study of the IS Outsourcing Evaluation Strategy of Thailand IS Executives."
