Cho

Since 1990, May has been officially designated as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month to celebrate the rich history and presence of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

The month gets a jump-start with the appearance of comedienne Margaret Cho, who will speak in an Asian Culture Center and Union Board-sponsored appearance at the IU Auditorium in Bloomington Monday (April 15) at 7:30 p.m. Her topic will be acceptance. Free tickets are available at the IU Auditorium box office.

A Japanese tea ceremony demonstration, followed by a reception of tea and cakes, is scheduled Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. at the Mathers Museum in Bloomington, co-sponsored by the Asian Culture Center.
