Also dedicated March 26 was the Analysis and Visualization of Instrument-Driven Data (AVIDD) facility, which has components at IU Bloomington, IUPUI and IU Northwest. The dedication in Bloomington was broadcast live to both the Indianapolis and Gary campuses. Following the dedication, which featured remarks by Error! Hyperlink reference not valid.,
assistant director of the National Science Foundation, visitors were able to tour the facility. In this photo, Jeff Russ explains how the STK 9310 Massive Tape Storage Robot operates.

The AVIDD facility will provide data analysis for a great diversity of sciences, including the life sciences, geophysics, atmospheric sciences, physics and chemistry. IU physicist Scott Teige (above) gives a demonstration titled "Accessing New Physics with AVIDD" at the Wrubel Computing Center in Bloomington following the dedication.
