| • The 10th annual Central Eurasian Studies Conference at IUB will feature a free concert tomorrow (April 12) at 8 p.m. at the Ballantine Hall Auditorium, featuring the Mamedov Family Ensemble of Azerbaijan.
• The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies will host a lecture on “The Role of Hispanics in the American Civil War, by Rose-Hulman historian Antonio Rafael de la Cova at 4 p.m. Wednesday (April 16) at Wylie Hall 015, IUB. He is the author of Cuban Confederate Colonel: The Life of Ambrosio Jose Gonzales.
• Forest Farmers of the Amazon Estuary explores the daily life and economy of the rural peoples of the Amazon. The exhibit opens Friday, April 25, at the Mathers Museum of World Cultures, IUB. Brazilian food and music will be featured from 6-8 p.m. opening day.
• Tomorrow is the last day to see the exhibit, Herron School of Art Centennial: Students and Teachers, 1950—Present at the Herron Gallery, 1701 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis. Several outdoor sculptures are part of the exhibit, including Reunion, by sculptor Don Gummer, who attended Herron in the 1960s. Gummer is married to actress Meryl Streep.
