| When Chancellor F.C. Richardson first arrived at IU Southeast in the summer of 1996, he targeted the enrollment of the campus as an area to improve. Between 1994 and 1995, overall enrollment had dipped slightly, reflecting a sign of decline.
With more aggressive marketing initiatives and a drive to boost quality in service at all levels, IU Southeast began seeing an influx of students. By fall 1999, the campus population had surpassed 6,000 and consistently has risen every year since.
Richardson said the growth reflected “both the hard work of faculty and staff with recruitment and retention of students, and the recognition by prospective students of the high quality of our academic programs.”
