| Margaret Skurka, director of health
information technology, was a recipient of the University of Illinois
at Chicago, College of Applied Health Sciences’ 2002 Outstanding Alumna
Award at the college’s 2002 annual convocation.
Charles Hobson, management, and Dawn Kesic, director
of the Center for Management Development, had their paper, "A Behavioral
Framework for Skills Assessment and Development in Teamwork Training"
published in a volume of International Journal of Management.
Hobson, Kesic and Linda Delunas, nursing, wrote "A Framework
for Redesigning or Fine-Tuning Your Benefit Package: Results from
a National Survey of Stressful Life-Events," which appeared in Benefits
Quarterly.
Linda Templeton is the campus’ new director of admissions.
She was formerly affiliated with Marshall University, Huntington,
Wy. She will oversee the implementation of academic recruitment
strategies.
Shyam Bhatia, economics, has received two awards from the
Midwest Business Economics Association: one for outstanding service
and the other for founding the Journal of Business Economics
Research.
The Department of Minority Studies was recently honored
by the Calumet Project with its Grassroots Leadership Award for
work in environmental justice.
Lori Montalbano-Phelps, communication, presented "The Dark
Days: Deconstruct-ing Depression and Reconstructing Lives" at the
Central States Communication Association Conference in Milwaukee.
