Holocaust portraits at IPFW gallery through March 14

Diana Kurz’ Portraits and Narratives: A Response to the Holocaust continues at the IPFW Visual Arts Gallery through March 14. The exhibit is sponsored by Arts United, Indiana Arts Commission, the Fort Wayne Jewish Federation, the Dr. Harry W. Salon Foundation Jewish Federation and the Dr. Harry W. Salon Foundation.

Kurz was born in Vienna in 1936 and fled to England and then to the United States with her family. Much of the work of the New York-based artist is connected with the Holocaust, the memories of displacement from a country she considered her homeland and issues connected today with the Austrian perception of itself as the first victim of Nazism.
