Many changes in deanships, interim appointments

Yeager

Little

Last spring, the IU Board of Trustees officially named Lillian Yeager dean of the Division of Nursing and Gloria Murray dean of the School of Education. Both had been serving as interim deans.

In fall 2001, James Kauffman assumed duties as dean of the School of Arts and Letters after Joanna Goldstein, professor of music, stepped down to devote more time to her classes and to coordinate special projects for the music department.

Upon the retirement of long-time Dean Galen “Joe” Renwick, Ben Nassim, professor of chemistry, was named interim dean of the School of Natural Sciences. When School of Business Dean Uric Dufrene left to become a dean at his alma mater in Louisiana, Eldon Little assumed the role of interim dean for the 2002-03 academic year.

Clifford Staten, associate professor of political science, is in his fourth academic year as dean of the School of Social Sciences.
