• In memory of two African-American educators who left an indelible mark on the Bloomington campus, the Minority Achievers Program and the Mathematics and Science Scholarship have been renamed the Hudson and Holland Scholars Programs, in memory of biologist James Holland and Afro-American studies professor Herman Hudson.

• Mini University’s 32nd year is set for June 15-20 on the Bloomington campus. The IUAA and Bloomington Continuing Studies administer the program, which was cited by Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel magazine the last two years as one of the best “learning vacations” in the United States.

•  Join the public tour of the Lilly Library in Bloomington every Friday at 2 p.m. On exhibit through May 8 are many treasures, including the first printing of the Declaration of Independence (1776), the first edition in Latin of Christopher Columbus’s letter following his voyage to the New World (1493), the Coverdale Bible (1535) and the manuscripts of Sylvia Plath, Raymond Carver and Edith Wharton.
