| The official start date of ArtsWeek at IU Bloomington is Feb. 10, but that didn’t stop organizers from getting a head start on the festivities. The following events are promoted as “Pre-Arts Week” events, continuing through the Feb. 10-20 ArtsWeek timeframe:
Emily Hahn: A Life of Adventure and Writing - This Lilly Library exhibit displays correspondence, books and manuscripts from the early feminist’s papers. Dates: Jan. 14–May 7. Free.
Brain Teasers 2: Art meets science in this national traveling exhibition of mind-boggling puzzles that challenge visitors of all ages, through May 8. Location: Wonderlab Science Museum. Admission: $5.50/child; $6.50/adult; $6.00/senior adult. (Through February: half-price admission for IU students with valid student ID)
Translations of Euripides: Translations of Euripides are on display at the Lilly Library in conjunction with the IU Department of Theatre and Drama’s performance of Bacchai, by Euripides. Feb. 2–20. Free.
Bacchai, by Euripides: The U.S. premiere of a new translation
by Colin Teevan. Over two millennia after its original performance,
Bacchai still thrills as a theatrical tour de force. Presented
by the IUB Department of Theatre and Drama. Curtain Talk with
the translator following the Feb. 10 performance. Dates: Feb.
