IU center to conduct survey to assess ADA implementation in Indiana

The Center for Planning and Policy Studies at Indiana University’s Indiana Institute on Disability and Community is conducting the survey for ADA-Indiana. ADA-Indiana is Indiana’s State ADA Steering Committee, funded by the Great Lakes ADA Center to promote ADA implementation in Indiana. It serves as the centralized, statewide vehicle through which all those interested in promoting the implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act provide direction.

Survey questions also ask respondents what training and information they feel people in their community would benefit from. Areas being assessed include employment for people with disabilities, access to government programs, accessibility of public facilities and events, accessible information, and communication and knowledge of ADA rights and responsibilities.

ADA-Indiana, the institute and other disability advocacy organizations will be able to use this information to plan local, regional and statewide training and information dissemination.

The survey will run until Feb. 15.
