IU Founders Day

While Indiana University’s official “birthdate” is Jan. 20, 1820, a springtime commemoration has been the tradition for many decades. An honors convocation acknowledging some of Bloomington’s most noteworthy students will take place March 30. And later in the day, the legacy of the founding fathers will be commemorated with the conferral of some of the university’s most cherished awards.
