2002 State of the University address Tuesday

Brand to describe vision for IU research




Indiana University President Myles Brand will give his 2002 State of the University address during the opening meeting of the University Faculty Council, Tuesday (Sept. 24) on the IU Bloomington campus. Faculty, staff and citizens from the communities served by IU are invited to attend.

His topic will be: “Pursuing the Endless Frontier: Research at Indiana University.” The president will describe his vision for research at IU, discuss some of the challenges to be faced, suggest some viable approaches toward meeting those challenges and chart new directions for the future.

The address will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Frangipani Room of the Indiana Memorial Union in Bloomington. A reception will follow in the East Lounge.

For those unable to attend, the address will be telecast live on Channel 30, WTIU, from the Bloomington campus. It will be re-telecast at 11:30 p.m. that evening and at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.
