| U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy will deliver the keynote address at the dedication of the Lawrence W. Inlow Hall, the new home of the Indiana University School of Law—Indianapolis.
“We are very pleased that Justice Kennedy has accepted our invitation to speak at the law school’s dedication,” said Dean Norman Lefstein. “Not only is he an outstanding jurist, but he also has a deep interest and commitment to legal education.”
Other special guests expected to attend the dedication ceremony include representatives of law schools in China, France and Australia.
The new building, located at 530 W. New York St. in Indianapolis, was completed earlier this year through the generosity of Anita C. Inlow, widow of Lawrence W. Inlow, former executive vice president and general counsel of Conseco, Inc.
The $36 million facility employs the latest technology and teaching methods, and houses modern classrooms, private study areas and a law library equal to any. The spectacular atrium area is available for student, alumni and community functions, helping to ensure that the building will serve a myriad of purposes well into the future. For easy student access, important student services such as the Student Affairs and Career Services Offices are located on the first floor, as is the main student lounge and cafeteria.
The first floor also houses the law school’s clinic and the Wynne Moot Courtroom and Auditorium.
These facilities, combined with a location that is only two blocks from the Indiana Government Center and Capitol, will attract leaders in business, government and the legal community, strengthening ties among the university, Indianapolis and the state of Indiana.
