Sylvia Plath exhibit to open at IU Art Museum Sept. 3

Plath (1932-1963)

The 70th anniversary of American poet Sylvia Plath will be celebrated in three major events on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University. An exhibition entitled “Eye Rhymes: Visual Art and Manuscripts of Sylvia Plath” will open in the IU Art Museum on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and run through Nov. 23. The poet’s birthday will be commemorated on Oct. 27. The third event, “Sylvia Plath 70th year Commemoration and Literary Symposium” will be held from Oct. 31, through Nov. 3.

The creative works and scholarship of the exhibit and symposium will add new perspectives on the works of Plath, making significant contributions in research and interest in one of the most intriguing and influential literary artists of the 20th century.
