| The Indiana Business Research Center collects statistics that can be useful to the business community in the State of Indiana.
A March-April report from the center sheds some light on the state’s service industries which posted a significant gain of 215,000 jobs between 1991 and 2000.
The jobs included in the statistics included a variety of sectors, ranging from lawyers and architects to accountants and beauticians. Collectively, those service categories accounted for just about half of the overall job gains in total non-farm employment during the same 10-year period. The peak in services job growth occurred between 1992 and 1993 with 38,000 new jobs.
