Popham
| Eighteen-year-old Mark Popham of Louisville has become the first Indiana University High School (IUHS) student to be a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Popham is one of the more than 885 students completing their studies at a distance through IU High School and one of 15,000 Merit Scholarship finalists nationwide.
Beginning in March, the National Merit Scholarships will be offered to 8,000 of the finalists. Candidates enter the competition by taking a Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
“We are thrilled for Mark and proud of IU High School,” said Judy Wertheim, interim dean of the IU School of Continuing Studies. “Mark’s contention for a National Merit Scholarship attests to the caliber of IU High School and its students.”
