Coke-Cola
Coke-Cola, through their bottler PANAMACO, have been using torture, murder, and kidnapping to intimidate their workers. We must let Coke know that they must protect their workers from these attrocities! Go to Cokewatch.org for more info.
Living Wage Campaign
Workers cannot live on $5.25 an hour alone. Throw in the daily struggles of having housing, food, bills, and supporting a family, and you can probably say it's next to impossible. No Sweat! is pushing for a Living Wage to become a reality, here in Bloomington.
Wage Disclosure and Production Disclosure
When No Sweat! and United Students Against Sweatshops first organized
against sweatshops, we assumed that having the right to investigate the
factories where abuses were reported would improve working conditions. Now
we know that we need wage disclosure and production disclosure to adequately
enforce good working conditions for all workers who make apparel bearing the IU
logo.
World Bank Bonds Boycott
The World Bank's policies have been destructive to nations across the world, creating ecological, social, and economic damages. The World Bank gets a majority of its funding by issuing bonds bought by educational instituions, such as IU. For more information, visit Word Bank Bonds Boycott.
Taco Bell Boycott
In early 2001, the Coalition of Immoklee
Workers began a 4-year campaign for better working conditions and higher
wages in the tomato fields of Florida. To support this campaign, No Sweat!
protested outside the local Taco Bell in Bloomington and hosted the CIW workers
on tour in Spring 2005. Since the CIW won their campaign with Taco
Bell, they now are pressuring Burger King, Subway, and MacDonalds to also pay
more for Florida Tomatoes.
