About the Project:
Research
Focus
Components
This
multi-phase, multi-year collaborative project seeks to improve community
leaders'
abilities to develop effective and collaborative solutions to community
needs
and inform public policy decisions through:
- Review
of the scope, structure and economic impact of the sector statewide and in a
cross-section of
local communities;

Detailed
assessment of how nonprofits are affected by the rapid changes
in public policy and local economic and social conditions;

Study
of the relationships between organizations--with particular emphasis on relationships between religious and secular organizations and between nonprofit organizations and government and philanthropic funders;
and
-
Development
of curricula material to be used for professional training and
academic study of nonprofit management and policy issues.
Focus
The
project examines the nonprofit sector at the statewide level and in twelve communities around the state
of Indiana.
