Uniquely Bloomington

Indiana University

GLBT Office

GLBT Student Support Services (705 E. 7th Street) is Indiana University's resource center for GLBT students, staff, and community members. One of the first Midwestern university GLBT resource centers, the office supports queer programming and support groups and holds one of the largest university-affiliated GLBT lending libraries in the US.

Downtown

Kirkwood Avenue (from Indiana Ave. to Morton St.) is downtown Bloomington's main strip and there you can find all types of shopping, restaurants, and coffeeshops.Downtown Bloomington by flickr user Abby Lady Bug

Visit 4th Street (from Indiana Ave. to Walnut St.) for the very best in Bloomington's ethnic cuisine offerings.

Below are some highlights of restaurants, businesses, and landmarks to visit during your free time at the conference. Look for the LGBT Owned icon to find out which businesses in town are LGBT-owned, so you can "keep it in the family!"
