Getting to Indiana University Bloomington

    From the Airport

    The primary airport serving Bloomington is the Indianapolis International Airport.  Indianapolis International Airport is served by all major carriers and is located one-hour northwest of Bloomington/IU.  The Bloomington Shuttle Service provides 9 daily roundtrips between the airport and various Bloomington hotels. Getting to Conference Events

    Indiana Memorial Union

    Many of the conference activities will be occurring in and around the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU). The IMU is located in the heart of the Indiana University-Bloomington campus. The address of the Indiana Memorial Union is:

    Parking on the IU Campus

    Parking on the IU campus can be a challenge, but we have worked with Indiana University and the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) to make it as easy for you as possible. The following are your recommended options for parking:

    Jordan Avenue Garage

    The Jordan Avenue Garage is located on Jordan Avenue between 3rd Street and 7th Street. If you elect to park at the Jordan Avenue Garage, parking will be $2. You must obtain a $2 parking voucher when you check in to the conference to receive this rate. Parking in the Jordan Avenue Garage is free from 6:00 PM Friday until 7:00 AM Monday.

    Poplars Garage

    The poplars Garage is located on 6th Street between Grant Street and Dunn Street. If you elect to park at the Poplars Garage, parking will be $2. You must obtain a $2 parking voucher when you check-in to the conference to receive this rate. Parking in the Poplars Garage is free from 6:00 PM Friday until 7:00 AM Monday.

    11th & Fee

    The 11th & Fee Garage is located on the corner of 11th Street and Fee Lane. If you elect to park at the 11th & Fee Garage, parking will be $2. You must obtain a $2 parking voucher when you check into the conference to receive this rate. Parking in the 11th & Fee Garage is free from 6:00 PM Friday until 7:00 AM Monday.

    IMU Pay Lot

    The IMU pay lots have very limited parking. Two IMU Pay Lots are available. IMU Pay Lot #1 is located along 7th Street between Woodlawn Avenue and Jordan Avenue, on the east side of the Indiana Memorial Union. IMU Pay Lot #2 is located on the corner of Woodlawn and 7th Street, across from Ernie Pyle Hall.

    If you find a spot in one of the IMU Pay Lots, MBLGTACC 2009 will provide you with a voucher to cover 50% of your parking fees for your time in the lot. Parking rates and more information about parking at the IMU can be found here.

    Conference Shuttle Service

    Special conference buses will run to and from various conference hotels to Main Campus. Information TBA

    Campus & Local Buses

    Indiana University and the City of Bloomington have an extensive network of buses that run, on average, once every 10-20 minutes. More information on particular recommended bus routes will be announced. Until then, check out the Indiana University and City of Bloomington bus services' websites.

    The city of Bloomington is home to a vibrant and enthusiastic culture of bikers and cyclists, as well as a coordinated effort to increase sustainability throughout the state of Indiana.     (Sure, it'll be February, but for "hardcore" bikers, Bloomington's the best!)
