March 20th, 2009 - ICMC -- Indiana College Mathematics Competition

The ICMC is a fun math competition that the IU Math Club has attended for the
past three years. We compete in teams of three people and then go out for dinner
afterward. This year the ICMC will take place at IUPUI in Indianapolis. We
have registered plenty of teams, so feel free to come even if you haven't signed up.

Schedule:
1:00 Meet in Rawles Hall, 107
1:15 Leave Bloomington
3:30-3:50 Registration (4th Floor, Campus Center, 420 University Blvd.)
4:00-4:15 Contest Orientation (Room 450A)
4:30-6:30 Contest Runs
6:45 Dinner in Indy (paid for by Math Club)
10:00(appx) Get back to Bloomington


September 3rd, 2008 - Call Out Meeting

The math club is having its first meeting of the new school year! Math club meets
every week for lectures on topics in Mathematics and related fields. Students at
all levels and in any field who have an interest in mathematics are invited to the
lectures. (Free dinner is always provided.) This week we'll be hearing a few
summaries of exciting and useful classes offered by the math department this
semester and next and deciding what topics we'd like to hear about for the rest of
the semester. We'll also talk about opportunities for Math Club officer positions.

When: Wednesday, September 3rd, 6:30
Where: Rawles Hall Room 107 (lounge on the first floor)
What: Professor Michel Larsen will talk about his course - Putnam Exam Seminar - and
tell you what the Putnam Exam is and why you should take it. Matthew Drury will be
discussing the Math GRE Prep Class. And Professor Nets Katz will present information
on his new Combinatorics Class.
What Else: Free food.
