  • Collins accepts applications throughout the year.

Use this on-line Collins application if you already live on campus and wish to change your housing choice to Collins, but did not originally apply to live there. You MUST have on file BOTH a housing application (to secure a space in on-campus housing at Indiana University) AND a Collins application (to become a member of the Living-Learning Center) in order to live at Collins.

IF YOU ARE A FALL 2012 INCOMING FRESHMAN and have not yet filled out any housing application or wish to access your application to make changes, please click here to complete everything you need (including your Collins application).

If you have any questions at all, please email Lindsay Bugher, our Admissions Coordinator.

PLEASE TAB THROUGH THE FIELDS. (DO NOT HIT "ENTER.")

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY APPLIED FOR HOUSING AT IU: So that we're sure we know your housing preferences, please rank them in their order of importance. Please place your most important preference first, the next most important second, and so on. This ranking will replace any list of preferences you submitted on your original housing application. This ranking may include one or more learning communities (such as Collins), the name and IU ID number of your preferred roommate, single or double room, special accommodations, etc.

To help us to get an understanding of who you are and why you want to live in Collins Living-Learning Center, we would appreciate brief responses to the following questions. (When a waitlist is needed, preference will be given to applicants who supply additional information such as a letter of recommendation, writing samples, photos, creative projects, science projects, etc.)

  1. What are several of your favorite extracurricular and/or student leadership activities?

  2. Describe your academic interests and plans. Do you have specific areas you want to study or potential majors? Or are you exploratory for now?

  3. Why do you want to be a part of the Collins community?

  4. How do you see your interests (academic and extracurricular) contributing to the Collins Living-Learning Center?

Collins Academic Mission

By applying to live in the Collins Living Learning Center, I understand and agree to be part of the academic life of the program. I will do this by taking the Collins Q199 course, a one-credit hour gateway to Collins in the student's first semester, and completing one of the following:
  • taking a 3-credit hour Collins seminar in Fall or Spring
  • active participation in the Board of Educational Programming (BOEP) and course selection process
  • teaching a BOEP-approved "short course."

  • Collins LLC Diversity Statement

"We, the residents of Collins, commit ourselves to celebrating and exploring difference. We choose to respect all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, ability, or class. Collins is a safe place to live, learn, and create. We will not accept any action that excludes, threatens, or hurts others, directly or indirectly. We make this pledge as a unified community."

By selecting "I agree" below, I am indicating that I support the above Diversity Statement and understand that appointees to the Collins Living-Learning Center are expected to comply with it. Failure to comply may result in my separation from the program and re-assignment to other space in the residence halls.

You may already have submitted a housing preference to IU’s Residential Programs and Services (RPS). If you have not notified RPS that Collins is your first preference and should take precedence over anything you’ve previously submitted, then you need to contact RPS by emailing housing@indiana.edu or by calling 812-855-5601. Be sure to include your name and student ID number with your request.

If you are finished, press either "Submit Form" to submit your application or "Reset Form" to start over.
