National Commission on Marihuana and Drug Abuse
Because of the growing concern about drug abuse in the late 1960s, Congress enacted P.L.91-513. Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970. It established the National Commission on Marihuana and Drug Abuse. Debate continues today about the reports of this commission.
