In 1921, Ralston became the Democratic candidate for mayor of Indianapolis, but lost the election.

- Papers of George Washington Rauch, congressman from Marion, Indiana, who represented the eleventh district from 1907- 1917. In 1926 and 1924, he was the unsuccessful candidate for the nomination of U. S. senator from Indiana on the Democratic ticket. The collection consists of correspondence, speeches, and scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, 1908-1921.

- Papers of Edward Aloysius Rumely, physician and educator, and papers pertaining to his ancestors. In 1915, Rumely became editor-in-chief of the New York Evening Mail. From 1932 to 1959, Rumely's interest centered around national political questions. He served as executive secretary to both the Committee for the Nation and the National Committee to Uphold Constitutional Government. Early in 1941, he helped establish the Committee for Constitutional Government.
