To eliminate abstracts, add the following phrase to the search:

NOT PT=ABSTRACT ONLY

Sample GeoRef Search

(Salem near Indiana) NOT (PT=ABSTRACT)

Searching the phrase NOT (PT=ABSTRACT) eliminates all conference abstracts (including those from GSA, AAPG and AGU) from search results.
