Mary Popp of the Electronic Resources and Services Department sends big thanks to everyone who volunteered for and worked on the LIPS lobby information desk this fall. In the short week we were open, we answered more than 600 questions! Thanks to: Cynthia Baxter, Julie Bobay, Nancy Boerner, Jo Burgess, Jennifer Campbell, Dorothy Chapman, Ruth Davison, Judy Dye, Pam Glim, Hilary Jolly, Gail LaMoreaux-McElhany, Tim Larson, Julia Pophal, Carolyn Sherayko, Andrea Singer, Andrew White, and Celestina Wroth.
Thanks from Cameron McGuire, Library Administration, to everyone who has made a gift in memory of Lina Duncan. We have surpassed the $200 needed for the tree! The tree will be planted sometime in September and plans are underway for a dedication ceremony. Details will be announced as they become available. The balance will be used to purchase some books that will have a memorial bookplate. Lina's family is touched by the generosity of her friends in the University Libraries and grateful for the memorial tribute.
Thanks from Pat Steele, Library Administration, to all who made the Main Library lobby come alive last week! What a wonderful, interactive view of the Libraries you presented. I'm sure it was appreciated by our users and their parents.
