4. AFRICAN STUDIES SEARCH AND SCREEN COMMITTEE APPOINTED

The following people have been appointed to the Search and Screen Committee for the position of Librarian for African Studies: BJ Irvine (co-chair), Fine Arts Library; Nancy Cridland (co-chair), SALC; Jeff Graf, Reference; Sylvia Turchyn, IOCM; Chris Walker, Serials; Moira Smith, SALC; York Bradshaw, Sociology and Chair of African Studies Program; John Hanson, History and African Studies Program. The deadline for applications is June 8, 1998.

5. SELECTION COMMITTEE APPOINTED

The following people have agreed to serve on the Selection Committee for the first Mellon Post-Doc Fellow in Slavic Studies: Martha Brogan (Chair), Library Administration; Jackie Byrd, IOCM; Murlin Croucher, SALC; Mike Parrish, Business/SPEA Library; Denise Gardiner, Russian and East European Institute; Andrew Durkin, Slavic Languages and Literature. The deadline for applications was March 31, 1998. We hope that candidates will visit the IUB campus for interviews in early June.

6. FISCAL OFFICER SEARCH AND SCREEN COMMITTEE APPOINTED

The search committee for the Libraries Fiscal Officer position has been appointed. The members are: Kris Brancolini (Chair), Digital Library Program; Nels Gunderson, Business/SPEA Library; Eric Bartheld, Library Administration; and Jane Goldsmith, Customer and Facilities Services.
