Effective October 21, Sean Frew accepted the position of ALF Services Assistant, Customer and Access Services, Bloomington. Prior to accepting this position, Sean worked in Customer and Access Services as an hourly employee.

*16th, Annual HPER Library Auction, IUB

Wonderful donations are pouring in for the 16th Annual HPER Library Auction on Friday, Oct. 25. A sampling includes:

1) An antique chest of drawers, 2) many plants, including calla lilies, Star Fall white clematis, and voodoo lilies, 3) a ride in a 2-passenger horse cart pulled by a North American Spotted Draft Horse, 4) homemade jams and jellies, 5) a gourmet meal for 6, 6) two certificates for massages from a certified massage therapist, 7) 2 tickets to Susan Osborn, mezzo-soprano, performance in IU Auditorium, 8) homemade bean soup, 9) a small piece of Samsonite luggage, and 10) a whitewater kayak!

All of the above and much more will be up for bid on the 25th, so hurry over to the HPER Building on the IUB campus, Room 125 to join in on the fun. All proceeds benefit the HPER Library, and donations are eligible for a federal tax deduction. Preview of items will be from 11:30am until noon; bidding starts at noon and will last until 1 or 1:15pm. A 3-dollar, sloppy joe lunch (sandwich, drink, and chips) will be served by members of the School of HPER Support Staff Council.

We welcome donations from any and all IUL staff members- the form for submitting your donation may be found at: http://www.indiana.edu/~libhper. Click on the link to the Annual Auction announcement. Send the form to the HPER Library, Room 029, HPER Building, IUB.

*Wylie House Museum Event

On Saturday, October 12, from 10 am until 3 pm, Wylie House Museum will hold its annual Fall Open House. This year's event, "Doorway to the Past", will feature costumed house and garden tours plus two special attractions, a coverlet exhibit and fiber spinning demonstrations.
