History of the Latin Dance Club

The Latin Dance Club was founded in August 2003 by junior Emily Christine Jablon. “IU had a ballroom dance club and a swing dance club, but no Latin dance club. I saw the opportunity and went for it, but I couldn’t have done it without the dedication and support of my friends,” says Ms. Jablon. Ri Caragol designed the website for LDC (www.indiana.edu/~ldc). Intidane Moore lent his sound system to the club for its various events and Patricia Mota helped teach dances at the events. Carmen Tellez agreed to be the first faculty sponsor. Many others helped make LDC what it is today, and without their help the club would not be here.
