Indiana's Core 40 is the academic foundation that best prepares students for college. Visit the Indiana Department of Education's Web site for more information on the Core 40 diploma.
If you have not earned an Academic Honor or Core 40 high school diploma due to graduating prior to 2011, from an out-of-state high school, or being home schooled, your high school preparation should include a minimum of at least the 40 college preparatory courses listed below:
For beginning students: Any student with no previous college credits or less than 13 college level credits.
I. High School Curriculum: Indiana University requires Indiana Academic Honors or CORE 40 diploma; Students graduating prior to 2011, from out-of-state high schools or from home schooling must have comparable credits.
Students may submit GED scores in place of requirements I II. (GED = 57 or greater)
II. Class Rank: Students should rank in the upper-half of their class.
III. Entrance Exams: SAT composite 950 (Reading and Math sections only) ACT composite 20 (All students who have been out of high school for less than 3 years are required to take the SAT or ACT).
