2 Endings
The subject undergoing a situation:
• ~어/아 지다 (G1.1): Change from one state (or condition) to another. ‘become...’
Combines mostly with adjectives and expresses a change of state
• ~게 되다 (G3.1): Change of turn or events; mostly used with verbs, except that used with color adjectives.
Appealing to what the listener would be familiar with:
• ~잖아요 (G1.2): ‘You know, . . .’; the speaker assumes that the listener will agree with him/her.
• 거든요 (G4.2): ‘You see, (because).....’; the speaker expects the listener to see the correltaion
Speaker’s assessment:
• ~(으)ㄴ/는/(으)ㄹ 것 같다 (G2.5): ‘it seems/looks like’
• ~겠- ( ~겠어요, ~었겠어요, ~겠네요, ~었겠네요) (G3.3): reason out based on the evidence available
• ~어도 되다/ ~(으)면 안 되다 (G2.3): permission/prohibition
~어/야지(요) (G4.5): obligation to do something.
