The purpose of this course is to establish an appreciation of the basic knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for safe and effective exercise programming and prescription in health and disease. The audience for this class is students preparing for managment in the health & fitness industry; who will manage exercise professionals in the hospital and corporate wellness arenas.

Course Policies

  1. Everyone will take the exams at the scheduled times. Make-up exams will only be given under special circumstances.
  2. Everyone will present relevant articles
  3. Turn off all cell phones during class.
  4. Discussion of items are expected for doctoral students
  5. If you have a specific question you may be asked to help discover the answer.



EVALUATION:

          • 25% Mid-term Exam
          • 15% Case Study I
          • 10% Case Study Hypertension
          • 10% Case Study Obesity
          • 15% Case Study Diabetes
          • 25% Final Examination
