The Journal of Asian History,
now in its 44th year of publication, covers historical research on any period and all regions of Asia with the exception of the Ancient Near East. It welcomes manuscripts that make use of primary sources on any aspect of East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, Inner Asian, and Middle Eastern history. The word "history" is taken in its broadest sense, comprising all the disciplines of the social sciences and humanities when concerned with the elucidation of the past.
The Journal of Asian History is an independent, international publication, printed in English, not linked with any society. It appears twice yearly and is published by Harrassowitz Verlag in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Before submitting manuscripts, authors are encouraged to refer
to the style sheet. The preferred length of manuscripts is between 20 and 30 double-spaced pages, but longer texts may also be considered.
