Dissertation: The Album in the Age of Russian and Polish Romanticism: Memory, Nation, Authorship
Specialties/Research Interests: 19th-20th-century Polish and Russian literature and culture, comparative literature, film and visual arts, gender studies, Romanticism, post-communist cultures, national and authorial identity, memory and collecting, the idea of the "West" and "Europe" in Polish/Russian cultures, representation and the body, autobiographical writings, marginal genres.
Current project(s): A monograph on Russian and Polish Romantic albums, a second monograph on the idea of the "West" in Polish literature and film, a volume of essays on Polish-German memory (co-edited with Piotr Kosicki, Princeton University), and a guidebook to Witold Gombrowicz (co-edited with Jerzy Jarzebski, Jagiellonian University, Poland, and Benjamin Paloff, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor).
