How to Navigate the Report
Normal Browsing (Point and Click)
- Navigating the Accreditation Report
The most basic way to navigate is to start on the home
page, which is an outline of the Institutional Report. Click on a
hyperlink to read a section of the report. As you read each section,
click on hyperlinks within for additional information or evidence. Then
click the back button until you return to the home page.
- Getting back to the Home Page of the Report
All major parts of the Institutional Report have the same header and
footer. On these pages, you can always click on "IU NCATE Home" or
"Accreditation Report 2002" at the top:

Or at the bottom, "Home: Accreditation Report 2002"

Please Note: Some of the Web documents to which the Report links
are in Portable Document Format (PDF). Your Web browser must have
the Acrobat
Reader plug-in installed in order to view them. These PDF files will
look identical to the word-processed or scanned documents from which they were
converted. These PDF documents will not have the same format as
the Institutional Report, so you need to click your back button to return to
the Report, and then click one of the above links to return to the home page
of the Report. In Acrobat Reader, some of the documents may first appear to
have very small fonts. You can magnify these documents by using the
Acrobat 'zoom' function. Also, you can rotate pages in Acrobat if they
are vertical when they need to be horizontal.
- Viewing the Site Map (Table of Contents)
You can also click on "IU NCATE Site Map" on any of these pages. The
Site Map provides a detailed Table of Contents for the Institutional Report:

- Viewing the Alphabetical Index
On the Site Map page, there is also a link to the Alphabetical Index.
This is similar to an index in the back of a book, which lists all the major
pages in alphabetical order.
Searching Electronically (by keywords -- on the Web only)
- Searching the Accreditation Report
You can search electronically by keywords. Just click on "IU NCATE
Search" at the top of any of the main pages:

The search page will allow you to browse the Table of Contents, Alphabetical
Index, Faculty Vita and to type keywords for electronic searching.
Results will be ranked according to the best matches to your keywords, as is
the case for Web search engines.

At the bottom of the Search Page, you can click on links to search the Web
sites for the Bloomington Campus or the Indianapolis Campus of the School of
Education. These searches will include all the Web pages, respectively,
on these two sites.
Please Note: If your computer is not connected to the
Internet, and you are using the CD-ROM version of the Report, then you will
not be able to perform the Web search of the Report.
