Professional Experience

2001-Present Youth Voice.Net Project Manager: Supervise an Americorps Promise Fellow and student assistants, working with Indiana teachers who are using the website to create service-learning and youth advocacy classroom projects, writing lesson plans, planning conferences and presenting at conferences, and writing grant proposals.
2001-Present Instructor: Teach an online course, L501 Critical Reading in Content Areas
2000-2001 English Education Program Coordinator: Worked as a liaison between the IU College of Arts and Sciences English department and the IU Language Education department in the School of Education, revising and reviewing Education and English courses, creating educational websites, building partnerships with secondary public school English departments in southern and central Indiana, and teaching university courses which included Critical Reading online and Children’s Literature.
2000-2000 English ASC Teacher: Taught an English class for high school students or adults who needed the credits to graduate or to obtain their GED.
1999-2000 School Liaison: Generated traffic to ALFY(www.alfy.com), a children’s educational web site, by selling/promoting ALFY to Indiana elementary schools and developing partnerships with those schools.
2000-2000 English ISTEP Tutor: Tutored/prepared high school juniors and seniors, who had failed the graduation test, to retake it.
1999-1999 Curriculum Writer: Wrote essays and lesson plans for 9th grade Language Arts to be delivered over the Internet.
1997-1999 Curriculum Writer: Wrote learning activities on the computer for an online school and using the Internet to supplement those activities. I wrote 4th grade learning activities for several areas including: Language Arts, Art, Cultural Studies, History, Life Skills, and Geography. I also wrote assessment questions for some of the Cultural Studies.
